... when she is reminded that she is not in control.
In terms of my own mental sanity (or lack thereof), last week was a bit of a doozy. In the course of one short week, I was tentatively offered two jobs - one in Washington DC, the other in a refugee camp - was notified that there will soon be a vacancy in another department in our office and was told that there may be very real possibilities for obtaining funding for a sizeable project that I have been working on for some time and which had failed in its first attempt for funding.
All sounds fine and dandy to have "so many" options, but of course, none come without their "ifs" and "buts" and when it comes down to the bottom line, any way you slice it you're going to be taking some big time gambles.
After a few good phone calls, several hours of scrapbooking and a looonnnnggg mind clearing river-side run through crunchy fall leaves, I seem to have found a bit of peace at the very least, with all the options and gambles on the horizon. A bit ironic though, that first thing upon coming into the office on Monday morning, I was going through a stack of business cards from a recent conference and flipped over one from a Lebanese delegate over to scribble a note on the back, but found instead that a short message was already there:
"Become aware that there are no accidents in our intelligent universe. Realize that everything that shows up in your life has something to teach you. Appreciate everyone and everything in your life".
Coincidence?
